Bpifrance accompanies five French Fintechs, members of the Next 40 and French Tech 120, to the Singapore Fintech Festival, the world’s premier Fintech gathering.

For the second consecutive year, Bpifrance is leading a delegation of five top fintechs, members of Next 40 and French Tech 120 (labels gathering the most promising startups), to the Singapore Fintech Festival from December 7 to 11. This year, the event is digitized and includes a Parisian stage with the live broadcast of two panels from the Palais Brongniart (Historical Stock Exchange) in Paris. This mission, in partnership with La Mission French Tech and the Team France Export, is a unique opportunity for the selected companies to exchange with the players in the global ecosystem of the sector, but also to gain visibility in these markets and to make business contacts, with a view to their development in the Asian markets.

What is The Singapore Fintech Festival?

The FinTech Festival Singapore is a global meeting platform for the FinTech community. It is the world’s largest gathering of financial technology entrepreneurs. In its fourth edition in 2019, the event organized by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) attracted 60,000 participants from 130 countries and more than 550 speakers. The city-state, the Asian capital of the financial industry, attracts more and more capital to the industry every year and is implementing ambitious measures to maintain this momentum: in 2019, the sector saw its investments double to more than $850 million.

In order to help them discover development opportunities in Singapore and ASEAN, Bpifrance is organizing, with the support of its partners from Team France Export, Business France, and the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, a tailor-made and digitalized mission, including personalized meetings with business prospects, potential partners and investors, a selection of conferences focused on their activity during the FinTech Festival and special e-conferences with economic and institutional players. The aim of this system is both to gain visibility in South-East Asia, to become immersed in the Singapore FinTech ecosystem, and to establish commercial contacts with a view to their possible geographical development in these markets.

What is the SWITCH?

The Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology (SWITCH) is the ASEAN one-stop platform where innovation meets enterprise, with access to global startups, investors, corporates, innovation community, and ecosystem players. Organized by Enterprise Singapore (ESG) and the Intellectual Property Intermediary (IPI), the event includes a tech-matching platform, an online pitching competition, and exhibition zones.

For the second consecutive year, Bpifrance partnered with Enterprise Singapore to bring five promising French tech companies to attend the event: Balyo, Citytaps, Actility, Fieldbox.AI, and Geotwin. A unique opportunity for these startups to connect the dots with Singaporean and international tech players, as well as to foster business opportunities in ASEAN.

Located in the Global Innovation Alliance virtual zone, these companies and Bpifrance held virtual booths to present their innovative solutions and business activities to international participants.

During these five days, participants had also the opportunity to know more about Bpifrance and Enterprise Singapore joint innovation program. This initiative aims at encouraging and financing tech partnerships between French and Singaporean companies, with one common goal: to support France and Singapore’s future tech champions!
