On June 15, 2020, the Emirati export credit agency, Etihad Credit Insurance (ECI) signed a cooperation agreement with Bpifrance in order to strengthen and improve trade and bilateral cooperation between France and the United Arab Emirates.
This cooperation agreement was signed by Massimo Falcioni, Chairman and CEO of ECI and François Lefebvre, Managing Director of Bpifrance Assurance Export.
The aim is to strengthen the already existing commercial relations between the two countries and to establish a framework for cooperation to identify new business opportunities and develop new partnerships in the UAE.
By having access to a range of export credit, financing and investment insurance products, the export ecosystem of both countries will benefit from this partnership.
Within the framework of this agreement, the two institutions will work to strengthen their cooperation in the following areas: development of trade relations between France and the UAE, exploration of joint opportunities for insurance, reinsurance and co-insurance for the export of goods, services and investments, access for SMEs and ETIs of the respective countries to credit insurance, particularly in third countries, exchange of best practices, organization of joint events and identification of solutions in the field of export insurance.
