Sovereign Wealth Funds and Long-Term Investors

Presentation

Bpifrance is the French Sovereign Wealth Fund with over €36bn assets under management.

As such Bpifrance manages a large and diverse portfolio of direct participations in startups, small, medium, and large-sized companies, as well as participations in venture capital and private equity funds.

Following the merger with CDC International Capital, Bpifrance has started partnering with other SWFs and long-term investors for joint investments in France or in certain cases abroad, either directly or through funds managed by Bpifrance or other fund managers.

SWFs and long-term investors can benefit from Bpifrance’s strong footprint on the French investment market (250 investment professionals managing 850+ direct participations and 400+ participations in funds) and its extensive expertise on the main sectors of the economy, including emerging technologies as Bpifrance also acts as France’s innovation agency.

Active investment partnerships involve Mubadala, Qatar Investment Authority, China Investment Corporation, and the Korea Investment Corporation, for total commitments of €2.3bn.

Bpifrance is a founding member of the Institutional Investors Roundtable (IIR), the leading association for SWFs, pension funds, and other long-term investors, as well as a member of the International Forum of SWFs (IFSWF) and the 20-20 Investment Association. Bpifrance has also partnered with the Global Project Center, Stanford University for a research program on SWF.

For Sovereign Wealth Funds and Long-Term Investors

Bpifrance is actively looking for new partners among SWFs and long-term investors to jointly explore investment opportunities, with a view to maximize financial returns and to support companies in their development – including their development abroad – on the long-term.

Bpifrance also wishes to develop or take part in larger investment platforms of SWFs and long-term investors, on topics of interest such as Tech and Sustainable Investment.
