About us

Since January 2017, Bpifrance Assurance Export, a subsidiary of Bpifrance, has been managing public export guarantees in the name, on behalf and under the control of the French Government.

Bpifrance’s objective is to help French companies by facilitating their export capacity and improving the attractiveness of their offers to foreign customers. Each year, by acting as a subsidiary to the private credit insurance market, we help to guarantee several billion euros of orders placed with exporters and make it possible to carry out commercial contracts that meet our eligibility criteria.

Bpifrance’s offer is made up of a range of solutions aimed at supporting the prospecting of foreign markets, facilitating the issuing of bonds and the granting of pre-financing by banks, securing exports and investments abroad, making the financing offered to foreign customers competitive and protecting against currency fluctuations. This allows you to hedge against commercial and political risks, but also to protect your banking partners from potential non-payment of your commitments.

We also conclude various cooperation agreements with most of our foreign counterparts to support French exporters in a context of internalisation of production systems involving the increasingly use of foreign subcontractors and suppliers.

Since January 2023, the State guarantee is not granted for the export of goods and services for transactions whose direct purpose is the exploration, production, transport, storage, refining, distribution of coal or liquid /gaseous hydrocarbons, or the production of energy from coal excepted for operations having the effect of :

  • reducing the negative environmental impact
  • improving the safety of existing installations, or their impact on health, without increasing their lifespan or production capacity,
  • aiming at the dismantling or conversion of these facilities.
