To fulfil this ambition, Bpifrance invests, often alongside regional councils, in funds managed by GPs whose strategies are guided by the following principles:

• Reconciling financial returns and economic development
• Relying primarily on a generalist and interregional approach, in order to address sufficient market depth
• Targeting funds of sufficient size to ensure a robust business model
• Involving a majority of private investors
